I’ve been shopping a lot online lately. I purchased some make up from an ebay store in the UK (with free shipping! yay!) and a local pre-order website. My order in the latter was made June 8th and was expected to arrive on the second to fourth week of July. It arrived on time, July 10. I was very impatient about this transaction to be honest. It seems like I was waiting forever for it to arrive. Anyway, here they are.
(Edit: I remembered that the pictures could come out darker or lighter darker depending on the monitor settings. I tried to make the colors true to life hence some look much brighter than the others but then I realized that is kind of futile. Anyway. Carry on)
(I’ll be including mini reviews here and there but I’m not a professional make up artist and I’m new to make up so I might not be able to describe the products well. I might just end up using the words “good” and “nice” over and over again. Sorry. This has been a PSA.)
LA girl Beauty Bricks eye shadow palette in Smoky. I actually have the Nude one and I liked it so much I though I should purchase another palette from the collection. This retails for Php499 in SM department store. Of course, I got this for a much cheaper price.
Kleancolor’s Confession of a Colorholic. This is very cheap. Not more than Php 300. I swatched the shadows and I think most of them have good pigmentation and but some can be a bit patchy. It also comes with 5 lip colors, 2 blushes and 2 bronzers. The blushes are nice, I like that there are 2 colors and that the colors are somewhat different, you get a nice kind of bright pink one and a deeper one. The lip colors are just okay, they’re more like a gloss than a lipstick. Another good thing about this palette is that it’s not too big, I think this is a good palette to travel with. But the downside is having the lip colors with powders. It would be good if they covered the lip products with something to prevent the powders from mixing with them. (Woo, this was long.)
NYX Soft Matte Lip cream in Stockholm. This product is really popular online. I see lots of “Instagram shops” selling out on these so I decided to give it a try. Anyway, I’m into nudes (the color of course) lately so I really wanted to buy London which I think would go better with my skin but since it wasn’t available, I chose this shade instead.
Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Bare it All. I read somewhere that this is a dupe for Mac’s Velvet Teddy which (I think) is a pinky beige color so I really wanted to try it. And I really, really like the color and the pigmentation. One problem is, I have really dry lips and even with a lip balm, it still dries my lips. I tried putting the soft matte lip cream on top and I think it works well since the lip cream (for me) isn’t drying at all. It’s also really cheap! LA Girl’s Lip Glaze in Blushing. (I obviously love LA Girl) I have Elude and I really like it so I decided to try another shade. This one is a plummy shade I believe (describing colors is very hard for me, sorry). These things are highly pigmented and have a glossy finish. Another thing I like about this is how you can mix the colors easily and experiment on the color that you like. So if the shade you bought doesn’t look good on you, you can still make it work. Somehow. (Just pump some on the back of your hand (or a palette) and mix the 2 colors together and apply with your fingers or a brush for a more accurate application.)
Jordana Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Lavender Lady. This is the cheapest thing I bought. But it’s really good. It’s pigmented, not drying and the color selection is great. There are 35 shades to choose from and most are very wearable, everyday colors.
Kleancolor’s Eyebrows Essential Kit in Medium Brown. I haven’t tried this yet. I am not very good at doing my brows I usually just leave it as it is but I am trying to learn. This one is very cheap too. Kleancolor Girl’s talk Volumizing Mascara. I have yet to try this one. I like the packaging though. It’s kinda cute.
City Color Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder. I am surprised by this product. It’s a really cheap highlighter but the pigmentation is great. Just one swipe gets you a lot of product. Just blend it well since it can show up a bit harsh.
ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in Fiji (matte). This is the newest shade, I believe of their blush and bronzing duos. I’m big on bronzing lately and I’ve been wanting a matte bronzing powder so I opted to buy this instead of Antigua (which I think suits my skin better). I like the packaging, it’s sleek, has a big mirror and it definitely looks like Nars’ duos. The blush and bronzer are awesome. I bought this for only Php180 (Mall price is Php220 the last time I checked) and it’s definitely worth it. I’ll be buying Antigua next time. Well, that’s all for this part. I’ll be posting the UK/Sweden order next week. Til next time!
